i grew up in the midwest united states.

when i was four i buried a shoe in the lot next to my house to see what would happen after a few years in the ground.

working with fabric with the intent to mark it with image and text has been an interest of mine since high school, where i first stretched a tshirt and had at it with a marker. i still think it looked bad ass.

since then i’ve found batik and for the past few years have developed a love for the wax and dye method. i have just started to add embroidery and hand painting to my batik, and am only more excited to see what i can do.

i’ve always been inquisitive. i wonder. i think.

i try alot of things just to see what happens.

i never found that shoe.
