There is Rock out there

Found this batik artist with some serious chops. I love it when I find someone who makes me think I have far to go before I hit what I really want.

Too bad their site is utter horror, as P. Alexandria’s batik is pretty interesting. Wish it listed exactly how large the work is as well.

Their work made me think more about a classic art education approach to images in batik. Some of their work makes me imagine them as an art student, taking drawing classes, etc., but instead of drawing or whatnot, they work in wax.

I keep thinking about doing a still life.

Passionate People

I participated in my first art fest with the studio over the weekend, and it was pretty neat. The place was jumpin and people were generally receptive to my shirts. I enjoyed the two days of great weather and sunshine, other than being to close to the grill and a stage whose time was split between passable to enjoyable bands and please-won’t-you-stop acts.

Sales were made.

The best part though, was the couple hour break I took to walk around on Saturday. I stopped and bought a mug. I chatted with several other artists, and was so refreshed to talk to people so passionate about what they were doing, no matter what it was. And the variety was pretty vast, from hand constructed fine cutting boards to tie dye to sock monsters. Great people, and really great stuff.

When my wife came back from her walk with a sock monster, she said, “I’m sorry, I just had too,” while employing a five-year-old clutch, “I love it.”

Keep Going

i do.

“The entropy of an isolated system not in equilibrium will tend to increase over time, approaching a maximum value at equilibrium.”

Not much else at this interior beginning. Change of pace. Another hat in the ring. Keep going.
